Illustration by Arturo Redondo of Borceguinería Street in Seville in 1519.
Now known as Mateos Gago Street, in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, it connects the Virgin of the Kings Square (Plaza Virgen de los Reyes) with Fabiola Street. The street was formerly known as Borceguinería Street, named after the shoemakers that traded there until the 18th century, especially those that made traditional boots known as borceguíes.
