Cosmetics, a cigarette case and lighter may have been all that was carried in this glamorous evening bag. The transparent Perspex panels, held in place by a gold-coloured metal frame with bejewelled handle, would have revealed the bag’s contents. The bag’s simple outline echoes the A-line silhouette presented by Christian Dior in 1955.
