Naturalis Biodiversity Center
Leiden, Netherlands

This shark is a smelly creature. Its body is covered with foul smelling mucus. Furthermore, the bramble shark has scales which develop into thorn-like denticles. None of the other sharks has these denticles. It’s all quite fearsome, but fortunately it has never attacked a human yet.
