Brass Chest with Geometric Metalwork

Smaller chests - resembling briefcases consisting of various tiers on the inside and generally layered with velvet - were lighter in weight and could, therefore, be moved easily. Similar to tea chests or vanity cases, they are also known as Shirazi or Basra chests as they travelled from India to Shiraz and then onwards to Zanzibar.
