Abhidnya Ghuge uses sculpture as a visual representation of her own internal transformation after coming to the United States. The patterns and forms incorporated into her designs are part of the same paradigm seen microscopically within the human body, reflecting the artist's studies in medical school. Creating structures, Ghuge invites viewers to immerse themselves and experience these physical and spiritual landscapes. The patterns in her work intend to call to mind the patterns in Indian art, and the artist transformation she felt when she came to the United States. The paper plates rolled for this piece are humble, and then transformned to expressive, abstracted works of art.
