Briksdal Glacier

The Birksdal glacier lies on a steep mountainside, with a small lake at its end. Bare rocks on both sides of the glacier and the mountainside continues upward. A bird sits on one rock, another bird is in flight. This glacier in Western Norway is a popular tourist destination, but due to the warming climate, it has retreated several hundred meters since the creation of the painting.
