Dou is a kind of food containers shaped like a high-foot plate or compotier, which has appeared during the Neolithic age(ca.8000-2000BCE). This dou-shaped lamp is evolved from dou, and it is the earliest and the most common kind of lamp in antient China. The lamp dish has the candlestick that places wick. Its base can also be used as lamp dish when turns over. The whole body is decorated with gold geometry.
