Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

The stupas that represent the eight main steps in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni are crafted with gold. In the center of the composition, Buddha Shakyamuni is depicted with a peaceful countenance, in a large radiating halo, wearing the Triple Dharmic robes, having his right hand gestured in Abhaya mudra and his left hand in Dhyana (meditation) mudra, seated in a vajra posture on a lion throne. On either side of Buddha Shakyamuni, there are his two foremost disciples of Moggallana and Sariputta.
