During the war, the area in the city center that is now Peace Boulevard was the core area of the air defense system. Houses were torn down at a fast clip through the joint efforts of the military, the government, and the residents. Nevertheless, the bombing of Hiroshima did not permit this. It massacred and countless precious lives and injured people too.
