Black and gold japanned bureau cabinet, exterior decorated in landscapes. Arch-shaped top, surmounted in the centre with a carved gilt eagle with wings outstretched, and at each corner by a carved gilt seated female figure. Upper part with two panelled doors enclosing three groups of drawers and pigeon holes, gilt and japanned in red; centre of interior has a smaller pair of doors enclosing several small drawers and pigeon holes decorated in contrasting black japanning. Lower part in form of bureau with slanted baize-lined flap, enclosing small drawers and pigeon holes, above three groups of graduated drawers, outer concave flanking inner flat-fronted drawer. Standing on a carved gilt animal heads at each of the four corners, with a smaller head in the centre-front.
