Museum personnel stayed for several months with residents of the New Zealand weather station on Campbell Island 1958-59. Background artist William "Bill' Trayer was also present and created this landscape which is painted onto the floor to give a 3D appearance to the seals in water. He also made the rocks from paint spattered paper.
