An engraving by Thomas Grosse titled 'Transplanting of the Bread-Fruit from Otaheite' showing Captain Bligh of the 'Bounty' receiving the bread-fruit from the King of Tahiti. The journey to transport the breadfruit from Tahiti to the West Indies was halted by a crew mutiny with Bligh and some loyal crew cast adrift in an open boat, journeying across the western Pacific to East Timor. Published in London by Thomas Gosse, 1st September 1796.
