Card. Federico Borromeo among the plague-victims

The work is the bronze casting of the plaster panel made by Luciano Minguzzi for Milan Duomo's Fifth Door and depicts Cardinal Federico Borromeo amongst victims of the plague. The subject, which would have represented the tenth episode of the door based on the competition guidelines, was never put in place, due to differences between the artist and the Chapter of the Veneranda Fabbrica. Minguzzi later ceded the tile to be cast in bronze by the Fabbrica and exhibited inside the Milan Duomo Museum.
