Carmelina Colantuono - Molise Region

Carmelina revived the ancient tradition of
transhumance. Although no longer profitable and
increasingly a thing of the past, this practice is an
extraordinary way to re-discover one’s region.
These livestock trails re-opened long-abandoned
transport routes (the so-called tratturi) and
revitalized a social fabric that may no longer exist,
but lives on in the collective memories of local
communities.
