Photographer/artist Cecil Beaton's New York apartment at the St. Regis. He decorated it himself, created paint-splattered slipcovers for the sofa and a paint-splattered rug for the floor. The oeil-de-boeuf window is trimmed with orange velvet curtains, while the sill is decorated with glass cylinders in different colors holding flowers. The banquette and pouf near the window are covered in yellow and black cut velvet from a Tangier soukh. All around the fireplace, Beaton's portraits of friends sit on the floor, mantle, and wall.
