"Stamp issued on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of South Eastern Railway on 28th March 1987 features an HP class locomotive built by Vulcan Foundry Ltd." This 5 ft. 6 in. gauge locomotive first worked on EIR. HP class locomotives were later reclassified as HPS class, when a superheated version was developed. This is the only example of a BESA design appearing on an Indian stamp.
