Ng Sai-kit studied photography in the UK from 1989 to 1990, and established the “Photocrafters” workshop with partners between 2005 and 2008. During this period he organized photography courses and group exhibitions. In 2008, he co-founded the studio “Out-Focus Group”.This series is called Folds of Cities. The artist tries to open, through photography, a city's "folded" spaces - those hidden, imagined and illusory spaces caught between history and reality. Ng's works also refer to the "dispersed perspectives" characteristic of Chinese landscape paintings, deliberately capturing the multi-layered spatial arrangement in an urban environment. He fills his compositions almost to the brink to emphasize the sense of suffocation and confusion in this urban space, creating strong dramatic effects at the same time.
