Ceramic marbles

Recovered during the excavation of the Former Model School in Melbourne, these marbles were
found in both boys and girls playgrounds. The collection includes one cheap earthenware marble painted blue by an enthusiastic owner. The glazed marbles are Bennington or imitation agate. These became less popular after 1890 when other marble types became available
