Printed form, completed by typewriter, English, 06.06.1944

The certificate was issued by the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army and signed by Colonel Roy E. Lindquist (1907–1986). It is ornamented at the top, on the left with the unit’s coat-of-arms, on the right with the so-called “Red Devil emblem,” which features a red devil with a parachute and a gun. Werner T. Angress (1920–2010) was certified to have successfully completed parachute training and—although it was by no means true—to have made the necessary number of practice jumps.
