Antonio Zannoni (1833-1910) was a multifaceted figure - archaeologist, engineer, architect, teacher, public official, and politician. He is best known for his archaeological discoveries, including the 1869 excavation of the Etruscan necropolis at the Certosa cemetery. He also designed the Certosa's Galleria degli Angeli, where he was buried after his death. His archaeological work at the Certosa is recognized as groundbreaking in modern archaeology.
