In the ceremonial square, there is a pair of cha-gan or flagstaffs, each 9m in height. The flagstaff on the right was for hoisting the state flag of Bogd Khaanate Mongolia, and the flagstaff on the eastern side was for hoisting the religious flag or the during ceremonies and religious rites.
