This small solid metal purse is stamped with the letters EPNS indicating it is made from electroplated nickel silver, an alloy of 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc. Its name reflects its silver appearance though it contains no actual silver. The ring on the chain could be worn over a finger or attached to a chatelaine. Its two interior compartments are lined with purple fabric.
