Chichen Itza is classified as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and as of 1988, it is enlisted as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities and it was likely to have been one of the mythical great cities.
This is part of the iconography from the Sculpted Chamber of the Lower Temple of the Jaguars at the ancient Maya site of Chichen Itza, Mexico (basal course underneath figure A14). The object is a 19th century cast from the original, part of the Maudslay Collection at the British Museum, which was later painted, trying to give it its potential original colours.
