Pooles Park was designed by architects Max Long & Partners in association with Sydney Greenwood. It was built by John Laing and Son Ltd for the London Borough of Islington. The development comprised a twelve-storey block, a six-storey block and seven four-storey blocks. Laing used the Danish 12M Jespersen system, which it had bought the rights to in 1963. The system's precast units were supplied by Laing's concrete factories at Andover and Heywood.
