Bertrand-Boutèe, one of Barrias and Coutan’s students, was member of The French Artists Society and exhibited in the salons since 1904 untill 1925.
This children couple, which was part of the Enfants a la Fontaine collection, was first shown at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1912. Described by the press at the time as a lovely piece of a subtle complexity, it is surprising for the kindness and sweetness that characterize the figures.
