Chinese bowl and stand. The octagonal-shaped hand painted porcelain bowl is primarily robin’s egg blue, with a yellow base. Scenes are depicted in various colors. The bottom is stamped “China” and also has a separate Chine marking. The bowl rests on a separate decorative dark wooden stand and is also marked as made in China. The bowl and stand set were a gift from Madame Chiang Kai-Shek to Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt when she visited them in the White House during WWII. FDR Library Museum Collection, MO 2004.11.2.
