First synagogue in Buenos Aires built by the Israelite Congregation on Libertad Street 779. The first stone was placed in 1897 and at its inauguration important governmental authorities attended. Over the years, there were gathered members of the growing Jewish community of Buenos Aires. In 1932, modifications and extensions were made that, in general terms, are the ones that it maintains at present.
