Clothes line in São Lourenço

Built between the 16th and 18th centuries, the Church of São Lourenço (belonging to the College of the Society of Jesus) is a clear example of the influence of Italian architecture on Porto’s classical buildings. This façade, of grandiose and flamboyant dimensions, seems like a theatrical backdrop implanted amid the surrounding mesh of small-scale town buildings.
