Coat Stand, is part of a set of photographs related to Dadaism and was the artist's first photographic nude. There are three versions of this photograph, one in which the sex of the model is covered with a seal, another without the seal, and the third, the "Coat Stand", with the seal mark that was removed. The satire to the aesthetic canons is combined with the subtle criticism evidenced by the seal, which, like an old grape leaf, is pulled out without ceremony, leaving its mark.
