Cocle, Melanie and maid

Following the name of the image, we observe a milkmaid who holds a girl who is sitting on a wooden podium. From the girl's clothing, it can be assumed that it is the day of her baptism, while the mistress hides her face with a dark cloak. This last situation has been observed in other photographs of infants with nurses, who were erased from the image.
