This 18th-century porcelain puerpera service, or "impagliata," was given to women of high social standing after childbirth. It included energetic foods to help them regain their strength. This set, missing its serving tray, consisted of four pieces: a plate, a broth cup, an egg holder, and a lid. The polychrome floral motif with gilding is characteristic of the manufactory founded in Bologna by the Viennese Giuseppe Finck in the second half of the 18th century.
