Colored Glaze Ornament

Boshan Colored Glaze Museum

Boshan Colored Glaze Museum
Zibo City, Shandong Province, China

This is a colored glaze ornament of the Yuan Dynasty, which was collected from the first ancient colored glaze workshop site unearthed in China. It has a length of 3 cm, a width of 2.2 cm and a weight of 4 g. It shows that people in Boshan were able to use colored glaze to make various exquisite trinkets that imitated jade and agate, and that the production of colored glaze in Boshan at that time had already had a considerable scale, which was beyond the reach of other places.
