This poster, Come In to Play, was published by London Transport (L.T.) to promote the use of season Tickets, particularly for travelling into London from the suburbs to the West End for a day shopping, or an evening at the theatre. It features a design by the artist Paul Nash: a painted suburban scene contrasted with a black and white photo of Piccadilly Circus at night. A train Ticket links the two images. Paul Nash was a renowned landscape artist, book illustrator and theatre designer. He was a member of the London Group and a tutor at the Royal College of Art during the 1920s and 30s. London Transport commissioned from him a moquette design for the proposed 1938 stock as well as poster designs.
