The sculpture composition «Simon the Musician» is a sketch of the Yakub Kolas monument made for Yakub Kolas Square in Minsk.T he image of a seated young man settled on the baseboard which imitates a hillock, the figure is leaning on his left bent at the knee leg, his right leg is stretched forward, dressed in bast shoes, a long belted shirt with an open collar, his head raised and turned to the left of the viewer, inclined to the violin in his left hand, the right hand imitates playing a violin bow. Simon the Musician caracter is a hero of the poem «Simon the Musician» by Yakub Kolas.
