It was part of the evangelization strategy in the colonial context, and was created as a tool of instruction to counter indigenous rituals. Likewise, topics such as the sacraments and the benefits and disadvantages of the marriage bond are adressed. The text was published in Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara, consolidating its relevance as a notable source of the 16th century. On its cover it bears the monogram of the name of Jesus Christ, "IHS", which means "Iesus Hominum Sanvator" (Jesus, savior of men).
