This hammered copper Antoninianus coin was stamped during the rule of Claudius II from 268-270. The obverse, seen above, depicts a radiate and draped bust of Claudius II facing right. He was also known as Claudius Gothicus and likely died of the plague (Plague of Cyprian). The stamped motto states, "IMP. C. CLAVDIUS AVG", which roughly translates to, "Emperor Caesar Claudius Augustus."
