Scandinavian work at 700/1000 AD. came by the Apostle of Pomerania Bishop Otto of Bamberg in 1124 and 1128 to Pomerania and later in the Cathedral of Pomerania. Otto of Bamberg received the shrine as a gift of the bishop Asker of Lund/ Denmark. The contents of the shrine, a skull and bones, have been studied in 1875 by the pathologist Rudolf Virchow. He noted that the skull belonged to an old woman, and the bones belonged to a man. The legend says that the skull belongs to the holy Cordula, who suffered in the 4th or 5th century in cologne the martyrdom.
