From the Artist: I was sitting in an empty studio after all of the businesses in New Rochelle had been closed down and I thought, “what the hell am I going to work on.” I’m used to working on many projects at one time and to travelling at least twice every month for shows. And it all came to a screeching halt. I was just so devastated. Everyday hearing about how the world was being impacted by the coronavirus. So, I had no choice but to create this 8-foot piece, each panel of which shows a different part of the world and how it’s been impacted...in my style. It was a way for me to heal...and to deal with this pandemic. It took me the whole month of March and into April to complete this piece. I didn’t think it wanted to be three- dimensional. I think the three dimensionality of my work creates a lot of happiness and this piece isn’t about happiness but rather making a statement about the sadness of it all.
