When Frida Kahlo was 18, on September 17, 1925, she was in a tragic accident. The bus she was riding was hit by a tram. Badly injured and immobile for the first few months of her recovery, Frida took up painting. This corset was painted by her and it is a testimony of the several surgeries she had due to the accident. It has some communist references as well as some other imagery like a devil and a couple of peaches.
