Fondazione Museo Glauco Lombardi

Fondazione Museo Glauco Lombardi
Parma, Italy

In ebony frame. The watercolor, perhaps made by Isabey in Vienna in 1814 during the Congress, depicts Count Filippo Francesco Magawly (Temora 1787 - Dublin 1835) of Irish origin but residing in Parma since 1802. In 1808 he married Chiara Mazzucchini, who inherited the patrimony and the surname of his uncle, Antonio Cerati in 1816. At the fall of Napoleon he organized the provisional government of Parma; in 1814 Maria Luigia made him his Prime Minister. The origin and date of the purchase can be obtained from a list compiled by Lombardi himself (Municipal Library of Mirandola, Gavioliana collection, Lombardi archive, L4 B16).
