Crabapple flowers come in various shades of pink and white, and a few have pink buds that open into white flowers, creating a multi-hued display in spring. Crabapple fruits show a far wider range of colors, from green to russet and fire engine red. While crabapples have the potential to be excellent garden plants, many older cultivars are susceptible to a variety of diseases that disfigure their fruits and foliage.
