The CUNY Dominican Studies Institute Library, established in 1994, holds approximately 6,000 books, 850 doctoral and master’s degree dissertations, 13,000 newspaper articles, and 250 audiovisual resources, including films and music CDs, with a focus on documenting the Dominican experience in the U.S. and globally. The library’s digital collections highlight Dominican artists, colonial history, and Dominican veterans. It serves over 1,400 visitors annually and offers educational workshops, engaging over 700 participants. The recent expansion of the library holdings includes special collections on Dominican Bachata, rare photographs and ephemera on the history of Dominican music in the U.S., and artifacts, among others.
