Monumental custody in Buenos Aires Cathedral, made by Carlos Pallarols to celebrate the Eucharistic Congress in 1934. Totally silver made, with relevant details in precious stones and gold which highlight its liturgical symbolism.
Inside it, there is the Cathedral’s first custody’s male member dated back to XVII Century.
The magnificent piece rests on a globe where only South America can be seen emphasizing the fact of the first time it happens in America.
On the lower part and surrounded by angels, there is an engraving which says”TANTUM ERGO SACRAMENTUM” in clear reference to the Eucharistic Hymn which is sung during the
Holy Sacrament. The piece has a height of 3 metre approximately.
