Daeseongmun Gate of Bukhansanseong Fortress

Bukhansanseong Fortress was repaired between March and October 1711 (the 37th year of the reign of King Sukjong) so that, in the event of an emergency, the capital and the royal court could be moved there to continue the defense of the country. As such, Bukhansanseong Fortress can be regarded as important element of the national defense.
