THE "GROVO" MOVIE DOLLS - MOST ANIMATED MODELS YET - ON SHOW AT IDEAL HOME EXHIBITION.
2-3-1948.
The "Grovo" Movie Doll received its world premiere at the Ideal Home Exhibition, officialled opened by the King and Queen at
Olympia, London this afternoon. These dolls are really more than
dolls. They are designed by first rate artists and reproduced in Latex foam with an ingenious wiring system inside them which makes it possible to animate them and retain in any desired position, for instance sitting-up, standing, hanging on to things, waving their arms or embracing one another. They are not just toys as they are expected to be used as models for sketching amongst other things. These models which are also used as "characters" for window displays, are being shown at the exhibition by "lovelies" who appear as pantomime characters, such as Dick Whittington, Prince Charming, etc.
