Derbyshire Record Office
Matlock, United Kingdom

Engraved by James Peller Malcolm (1767-1815) from a drawing or painting by J Baker (probably dated to the late eighteenth century), this print shows Darley Hall at Darley Abbey near Derby. The hall was extended by Derby architect Joseph Pickford in the 1760s. In the 1830s it became the home of the Evans family who owned cotton and paper mills in Darley Abbey, now part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. It was demolished in 1962.
