Large folio sized book that contains an illustrated Don Quixote in Dutch, translated by Jacob Campo Weyerman. It has drawings by Charles-Antoine Coypel (25), Pierre-Charles Trémolière (2), Charles-Nicolas Cochin II [le fils] (2), Jacques-Philippe Le Bas (1) and François Boucher (1), engraved by J. van Schley (13), B. Picart (12), P. Tanjé (5) and Fokke (1). Cover printed in two colours, red and black, with chalcographic engraving and typographic border. Ornate capital letters. Text framed with typographic borders. Bound in leather with gilt stamped border and golden clasps and ribs on the spine. Etchings.
Each plate is accompanied by an explanatory poem and an explanation of what it represents; this is what forms the text along with the biography of Cervantes by Campo Weyerman.
