Sebasteão Cesar Meneses (d. 1672). Summa Politica, offered to Prince D. Theodosio of Portugal. [Rio de Janeiro: J. Leite & C., 19--]. 214 p.; 19 cm.
Dedication on the title page: To President Getulio Vargas, with friendship and respect off. Gustavo Capanema. On the 31st-XII-1936.
In 1936 (date of dedication of this book), Gustavo Capanema was in his second year at the head of the Ministry of Education and Culture, a position in which he remained until the end of the Estado Novo, in October 1945. The minister, already in 1930, he had supported the candidacy of Getulio Vargas for the presidency launched by the National Liberal Alliance - a coalition that brought together the political leaders of Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Paraíba. Capanema also led the formation of the Legião de Outubro (an organization from Minas Gerais with fascist programmatic traits to support the Revolution of 1930), together with Francisco Campos and Amaro Lanari.
