The Moscow canal played an important role during the WWII. Throughout the winter of 1941-1942 it was the frontier were offensive blow of the Nazi troops on Moscow was stoped.
The photo shows a metal road bridge over the canal in the village of Khimki (now in Moscow), which was later disassembled and replaced with a new one.
