Known as Philadelphia’s Dinosaur Museum, the Academy’s rich collection of dinosaur fossils tell the story of life on earth when the largest land animals roamed the planet. Deinonychus antirrhopus, despite its small size, may have been one of the fiercest of all meat-eating dinosaurs. This scene depicts Deinonychus attacking a Tenontosaurus and its young in a battle to the death.
